Welcome to my blog,

Fun facts and a little more about me besides being an avid dog lover I am also a Heyoka Empath. Now what you may ask is that? Think of us like the jesters of the emotional world. We strive to guide people by using our innate sense of intuition when it comes to emotions. We feel others emotions like our own and can see behind the masks that others can't always see. Let's say you were trying to hide your anger from someone but keep a secret and not cause trouble with the people around you. A heyoka will sense this and inturn mimic that same behavior right back at them oftentimes using that person's humor as a way of doing it. It is very specific to that person and that person only. This happens on a subconscious level to where we sometimes don't even know what we're doing without much learning and study. Now the common misconception is that by mirroring these traits it comes from a place of negativity, but in reality it's to get the other person to see their own emotions reflected back at them to teach them and help them understand.

Heyoka's are often misunderstood. They are well known contrarions and march to a different beat than to others around them. Their intuition is highly advanced when it comes to emotions and with proper training on how to use their gifts, they have the potential to make great change in the world. Humor is one of the ways a Heyoka expresses these teachings and most have an affinity for dark humor. They can truly joke about anything. Oftentimes they will use this humor to help work as an icebreaker towards someone who is exhibiting conflict avoidant behavior. The hardest thing for a Heyoka Empath is learning to work through the emotions they pick up on and absorb. Since they can absorb sadness and happiness, they have to learn to be able to ground themselves so that the emotion doesn't overwhelm them. This oftentimes involves lots of alone time and reconnecting with nature and animals. They may be called a wanderer or someone that challenges societal norms and opinions. They like to get to the deeper meaning of things in personal beliefs. This talent has the potential for great change though and can inspire people to work through their toughest challenges and fears. The key is to also work on their own healing because they sometimes forget when they are trying to help heal others. Balance is the key.

Heyoka's are out of the box thinkers as well. They can always be found looking for a new or different approach to situations or providing new ideas. They are also very good at telling when someone is lying and it stands out to them quite easily.

Heyoka's are also known for telling hard truths that many people do not say. This becomes an issue when not everyone can handle the truth. Some people may find this off-putting, but much of the time, it is what needs to be said, and even if it hurts, people are grateful that you said what no one else would. I've learned that sometimes, the truth we need to hear hurts our feelings but heals our heart.

I learned I was a Heyoka roughly 3 yrs ago. At the time I didn't quite understand it and it took a lot of time and practice to be able to understand how to use this gift for the better. My goal now is to be able to provide guidance to those that want to understand themselves better and help teach techniques to resolve any issues that arise. Feel free to ask any questions or give me a shout out at @purpledragondecoy. Thank you!
